Please note that these certifications are only valid if all requirements are in place, including but not limited to current US Sailing membership, CPR and First Aid.

The policy on collection has changed, so you are no longer required to submit copies of your CPR and First Aid to US Sailing.

Small Boat Instructor Level 1 Instructor Certification

Please only recertify at the highest level of certification which you have attained within each program. For example, if you possess Level 2, do not recertify at Level 1. If you possess Level 2 and Basic Keelboat, you can recertify both. You can click HERE to see the hierarchy of certifications within each program.

Due to Small Boat program changes, you may need to recertify at a different level than your original certification. For example, Level 2 Coach you will recertify at Level 3 Coach.

If a certification is listed above as LAPSED (because it has been lapsed for over a year), an exam is required for recertification. In such a case, you will be contacted with further details by US Sailing within two business days of placing your order.

By continuing to order your recertification(s), you are acknowledging that you have taught at least one course within three years of your certification, which is a requirement.
