Program Instructors – 2011

Our program is taught by U.S. Sailing certified instructors who are also certified in CPR, First Aid, and water related safety procedures.  Del Rey Yacht Club has over 40 years experience in offering a comprehensive year-round sailing program.  Our instructor ratio of one to four for beginning classes exceeds U.S. Sailing recommended guidelines.

Head Coach-
Scott DeCurtis- 27 years old- Has been year around head of the program for the last 4 years and has been coaching sailing for 10 years.

Senior Coaches-
Adam Corpez-Lahn- 29 years old- Past head instructor of our program and currently teaching the Race Team in Lasers, Fj's and 420's.

Mark Spector- 24 years old- current year around Opti Race Team Coach.

Lillian Kennedy- 25 years old- current year around beginner coach.

William Petersen- 22 years old- currently attending University of Hawaii and an avid participant of their collegiate sailing team.

Benny Spector- 20 years old- currently attending College of Charleston and is an avid sailing on their collegiate sailing team.

Leonardo Hernandez- 23 years old- has been coaching for our program for several years now and just received his captains license this year.

Michael Ramming- 20 years old- currently attending College of Charleston and is an avid sailor on the collegiate sailing team.

Sarah Somes- 20 years old- currently attending College of Charleston and is an avid sailor on their collegiate sailing team.

Adam Pokras- 19 years old- currently attending University of Hawaii and is an avid sailor on their collegiate sailing team.

Julian Soto- 20 years old- currently attending University of Hawaii and is an avid sailor on their collegiate sailing team.

Joseph Eichemberger- 21 years old- currently attending Cal State Northridge and has been coaching for our program for several years now.

Jenna Kennedy- 18 years old- graduating from Palisades High School.

Nicholas Weis- 18 years old- graduating from Loyola High School and attending UC Irvine in the fall.

Erin Megee- 27 years old- Graduated from University of Hawaii, participated on their collegiate sailing team, currently teaches 2nd grade in Hawaii.

Brian Mcmartin- 18 years old- Graduating from Redondo Union High School.
